I enjoy helping students find their path and discovering the “shoe that fits them.” In my free time, I enjoy gardening, baseball, music, cooking and baking, community service and mission work.
I am a Pre-Health Advisor at University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin (since July 2008). I started my career in International Education in New York City and lived and worked there for six years. I missed Wisconsin and returned and after that, I worked at Cardinal Stritch University where I was the Director of Outreach Programs. I decided, after career counseling, that my strongest skills are in student services and advising. I pursued a master degree and worked at Bryant and Stratton College as the Nursing Advisor.
I am a Career Development Facilitator! CDF was one of the best experiences of my life! My CDF instructor, Marie Smith, was great; she was helpful, encouraging and a wonderful mentor. I also participated in the Advancements and Trends in Career Development program. This program was great! Practical information, relevant links, and useful resources! My instructor (Marie Smith) has great ideas that are realistic and creative; I appreciate Marie’s positive approach to teaching and learning. ~Mary Beuscher
