James A. Jorgensen provides career development to adults with disabilities.
James has had the opportunity to:
- Provide career development to adults with disabilities
- Assess and address needs, identify skills levels, and determine appropriate training and coaching possibilities
- Develop individualized career plans for each client
- Help clients identify and overcome (or accept) obstacles and barriers
- Administer and interpret career assessments
- Create resumes and cover letters
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local employers to establish jobs, internships, and volunteer positions for clients. Identify positions that align with the unique needs and goals of each individual client
- Serve as a job coach (work alongside the client at the jobsite to serve as a trainer and mentor)
- Serve as an educator and advocate regarding accommodations for individuals with disabilities
- Remain abreast of advancements, trends, and legislation in the career development field.
